There are two main ways that sessions can be set in WebSphere.
1. For the entire server default = 30 mins
Server Panel:
Application servers > [Server Name] > Session management

or
2. For a specific deployment (application)
Application Panel:
Enterprise Applications > [Application Name] > Session management
